Children’s and Student Ministries Policies and Procedures

Thank you for your willingness to serve in Faith Presbyterian Church’s Children’s and Student Ministries! We have recently updated our Policies and Procedures. We want to love and care for the children in our church and do all that we can to keep them safe. These policies and procedures are in place to help protect our children and students from abuse and protecting staff and volunteers from false accusations.

All Children’s and Student Ministries staff and volunteers (both new and continuing) are required to complete the four safety steps: 1) Application Process & Two References , 2) Policies & Procedures Acknowledgement, 3) Sexual Abuse Awareness Training, and 4) National Criminal Background Check.

STEP ONE:

First, you’ll complete the online Confidential Safety Application. Volunteers will also receive an email with instructions to obtain two references. Expect to spend 10-15 minutes on this step.

STEP TWO:

Read and acknowledge Faith Presbyterian Church’s Children’s and Student Ministries Policies and Procedures. Expect to spend 30-40 minutes on this step

STEP THREE:

After Steps 1 and 2 have been received and reviewed by Faith Church staff, be on the lookout for an email invitation to complete Sexual Abuse Awareness Training. This is an online training course. Expect to spend an hour to an hour and a half on this step.

STEP FOUR:

You should also receive an email that prompts you to begin a Criminal Background Check. Expect to spend 1-3 minutes on this step.

Thank you for your time!
