Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Grace Group?
Grace Groups are the main way our church gets smaller. Instead of 1,200 people trying to know each other, you get a room of 6 to 12 people. They’re where people build friendships, study Scripture, point one another to Jesus, and walk through ordinary life together.
When do groups meet, and how long does the semester run?
Groups begin the week of August 16 and run through the beginning of May. Meeting day, time, and location vary by group. Specific information for each Grace Group is available on online form.
How do I sign up, and is there a deadline?
Registration opens Friday, July 31, on this website. Most groups will close registration in late August, however a few will remain open throughout the year for newcomers.
Do I need to sign up again if I was in a Grace Group last semester, or does it carry over?
Yes, it would really help us if everyone would sign up again!
What if I don’t see a group that fits my schedule or life stage? What if I’m still interested in leading a group?
We’ve tried to offer as much variety as possible. If you can’t find one that work, reach out to an elder in your Kingdom Community (KC) and let them know. If you don’t have a KC, email Martin Wagner. Our staff will help you find a group that works, or let you know when one might open up.
What is a Side by Side Group?
A Side by Side Group is a Grace Group built around a shared experience of suffering, not a life stage or shared interest. Grief, chronic illness, a hard marriage, addiction, anxiety, the weight of parenting: these are the kinds of things that bring people into these groups. We will offer a variety of groups this year. Click here for more information.
How is a Side by Side Group different from other Grace Groups?
A Side by Side Group is a new type Grace Group we are starting this year. Most Side by Side Groups will have an ongoing open enrollment, so people can join whenever they need to. Meeting frequency depends on the group.
