Michael is primarily responsible for overseeing and organizing the daily ministry operations of Urban Hope Community Church and its staff. He is also responsible for volunteer involvement and development of community partnerships. Michael is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in business management from Auburn University. Michael is happily married to Sims, who teaches at Hall-Kent Elementary School in Homewood. The Bowens have two children: Samuel (2/2020) and Ellie (10/2021). In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time building relationships, eating good food, and watching and playing any sport with a ball. Michael is passionate about seeing the kingdom of God displayed throughout the city of Birmingham through real and authentic relationships spurred on by the reading, preaching, and teaching of God’s Word within the context of the local church.
