Carter and Caroline are both from Montgomery, Alabama, and started dating while serving in East Asia with Cru. They spent nearly five years learning the language and culture and sharing the gospel with college students. The Lord used these years to grow them in their knowledge of His goodness and sovereignty and to develop a burden in them to see the lost in Asia come to saving faith. After unexpectedly returning from East Asia in 2020, they worked with international students in Birmingham and married in the summer of 2021. During their time stateside, Carter and Caroline became members of Faith and have loved being part of the body here.
The McWhorters are grateful for the ways the Lord has used these past experiences to lead them to join the MTW church-planting team in Bangkok, Thailand, where they will work alongside the local church and Thai national pastors. They desire to form deep relationships within their community, allowing them to share the hope of the gospel with those who have never heard. They are humbled to be called to take the gospel to Bangkok and are eager to see how the Lord will continue to use them in Asia!
The MTW team in Bangkok is dedicated to advancing the kingdom of God in Thailand. Partnering closely with Thai national pastors, they support a church-planting network that has been growing throughout the city since 2000. They are deeply committed to gospel-driven evangelism and discipleship, building relationships with Thais, and building up Thai national leadership in church plants around the city. Though the work is slow and difficult at times, real change, real redemption, and real hope happen in Bangkok, and the beauty of that is worth the struggle.
