Andy Weatherley – Grace Church Stirchley

Grace Church Stirchley | Birmingham, England

Andy is a church planter and pastor in Birmingham, England. He is the senior pastor for Grace Church which is located in the neighborhood of Stirchley. He affectionately calls his city Birminhgam, UK the “ugly step sister” to Birmingham, Alabama.

Andy has a passion for church planting in Birmingham and all across the UK. Over 2.4 million people live in the wider Birmingham area and over 4 million live within a one hour drive of downtown. Birmingham has the youngest population of any city in Europe. The city is diverse and culturally rich, but spiritually poor; over 27% of the population is Muslim and there is a large percentage too that claim no religious affiliation.

Andy and two other colleagues started a church planting movement called the Birmingham Collective (formerly “2020 Birmingham”). They have the goal of planting 50 churches by 2050, and they are already halfway there. They started a church planting residency program where individuals can be trained in church planting and/or church revitalization. They also developed a 2 year Incubator program that provides both training and coaching for church planters within the first years of their planting journey. Additionally, they developed a Planters Forum which offers peer-to-peer support, prayer, and training for more established church planters and church leaders to enable church multiplication.

Andy and Jo have two children: Fion and Josh.
