The membership process at Faith takes about twelve weeks, and the membership class is offered three times per year. Here are the steps to becoming a member for anyone age 7th grade and older.
1. Visit a Kingdom Community
The membership process begins with attending a Kingdom Community. We believe the Christian life is to be lived in community with other believers, and KCs connect people in our congregation. KCs meet on Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:45. If you would like help finding your fit, please reach out to Jamie Peterson.
2. Attend the Foundations of Faith Class
The membership class meets on four Sundays this fall. During this class, you will meet our staff and elders, be introduced to our beliefs, and study the five membership vows. Our next class is planned for October 6, 13, 20, and 27 at 9:45 a.m. in the sanctuary.
Register Here for Foundations of Faith.
3. Complete the Membership Form and Christian Testimony
While Foundations of Faith will help you get to know our church, the membership form and testimony will help us get to know you. Each person desiring to join must complete these forms.
4. Meet with our Elders
After you have completed steps 2 and 3, you are ready to meet with a pair of elders. You will be asked to give a profession of faith in Christ and affirm the five membership vows. To schedule your meeting, click the link below or email Russ Herren. Individual meetings are typically scheduled on Sundays or Wednesdays and last 30 minutes. We will not schedule your membership meeting until we have received your forms and testimony (step 3).
5. Profess your Faith in a Worship Service
After your interview, our session (the group of elders who lead our church) will vote to receive you into membership. New communing members publicly profess their faith in one of our worship services, publicly affirming the five membership vows. This typically happens about a month after the completion of the Foundations of Faith class.
Please contact Russ Herren with any questions you have. This is an important decision; we want to make sure that you have the information you need.
